Plain-language summary: Capell owns its original materials. Authors keep the rights they bring to the marketplace but give us a limited licence to operate it. Rights complaints need enough detail for a fair investigation.
Material created by Capell
Unless another licence is stated, Capell owns or controls the rights in the Capell website, brand materials, copy, screenshots, interface design, documentation, marketplace metadata we create, and first-party package materials.
You may not copy, sell, misrepresent, remove attribution from, or use Capell brand assets in a way that suggests endorsement unless we have agreed it in writing.
Material submitted by an author
Authors keep the rights they already hold in their packages, source code, documentation, screenshots, logos, and listing copy.
By submitting material, authors give Capell a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, review, scan, reproduce, display, adapt for formatting, distribute where needed, and promote it for marketplace and security purposes.
Rights an author must clear
Authors must have the necessary rights for all submitted source code, dependencies, images, icons, trademarks, documentation, datasets, examples, and third-party services. Open-source code must follow the relevant licence and keep any required notices.
Do not submit packages, listings, screenshots, names, logos, or documentation that infringe copyright, trademarks, database rights, privacy rights, contractual restrictions, or open-source licence terms.
Restriction and account action
Capell may remove or restrict access to material if we believe it may infringe rights or create legal risk. Repeat or serious infringement may lead to account suspension.
Send a takedown request
Send rights complaints to [email protected]. Include your name and contact details, identify the material, explain which rights you own or represent and why you believe the use is unlawful, and attach supporting evidence.
Unless there is a good reason not to, we may forward the complaint to the relevant author so they can respond. We may remove or disable access while we investigate.
