Move an existing site into Capell without a one-way door
Migration Assistant stages an import, validates it before anything changes, and keeps a rollback report. WordPress Importer adds WordPress export files as a source. Media Library and Diagnostics help with the images and the checks around the import.

Needed for any import
NeededMigration Assistant is the engine the importer plugs into.
- Migration Assistant
Upload a content package or CSV or XML file, resolve incoming relations, run a dry-run validation, then execute on a queue with live progress. Every run produces a rollback report.
Add for the source you have
OptionalWordPress Importer depends on Migration Assistant. The other two are useful around any import.
- WordPress Importer
Preview WordPress export posts and pages with permalinks, taxonomies, authors, and media references kept. It depends on Migration Assistant.
- Media Library
One library for imported media, with a migration from Spatie Media Library. Migration Assistant already deduplicates imported media by checksum.
- Diagnostics
Health reports for content, permissions, and queues, for checking the site before and after an import.
Separate dependencies and integrations
These listings are not included in this suite. Needed dependencies must be installed with the members that require them; optional integrations can wait until the site needs them. Check each listing for its price and terms.
- URL Manager Optional
WordPress Importer keeps supported permalink mappings and, when URL Manager is installed, can preserve old permalinks with redirects. It is a separate listing.
- HTML Cache Needed
Diagnostics depends on HTML Cache. It is a separate free listing.
A sensible order for the first site
Work down the list and stop when the job is done. Later members can wait.
- Upload a content package or a CSV or XML file, or a WordPress export through WordPress Importer.
- Review the mapping and resolve incoming relations.
- Run the dry-run validation and read the results row by row. Do not execute until it passes.
- If the import needs redirects, install URL Manager and confirm old URLs reach their new pages.
- Execute on the queue, watch progress, and keep the rollback report that lists which records were created.
Take a member on its own when
You can skip the suite. Each member is listed separately.
- The source is a CSV or XML file. Migration Assistant covers it and is listed on its own.
- Media is the only problem. Take Media Library for its Spatie Media Library migration.
- You need the WordPress source. WordPress Importer depends on Migration Assistant, so those two go together.

- The rollback report lists the records an import created. Redirects, DNS, and anything outside Capell are yours to check.

Migration Import: a site owner acceptance check
Dry-run the import, inspect redirects and field mappings, then edit one migrated record before rollback. Bad rows should be skipped and the later correction must remain.

Verify in the product: A rollback dry run should report exactly which imported records would be removed and which later-edited records would be skipped. Rehearse the reversal without a database restore and confirm that old permalinks still redirect.
Trade-off to assess: Cleanup is still real work, and site owners keep a developer running it. If the current site is stable, staying put can beat migrating at all.
