Capell Marketplace Terms

How marketplace information, Capell Membership access, refunds, installation evidence, telemetry, third-party packages, and safety action work.

Plain-language summary: Marketplace listings help with evaluation but do not guarantee fit. Paid access has fixed scope and expiry rules. Installation checks create evidence, and Capell may restrict unsafe or unlawful packages.

The marketplace helps users find optional packages. A listing may show author information, manifests, capabilities, screenshots, prices, licences, compatibility notes, release signals, database-derived package counts, ratings, and support details. Separate role-based inspection prompts may help users decide what to verify.

This information can help you decide what to inspect or install, but it is not a guarantee that the package will fit your site, hosting environment, client requirements, or legal duties.

Capell Membership costs £199 for 12 months of downloads, updates and support. GBP is the canonical price. Lemon Squeezy may show a local currency and calculates applicable taxes at checkout.

One purchase belongs to one customer organisation with up to 5 named users. A named user is one identifiable employee, contractor, or agency collaborator authorised by that organisation to use its protected downloads, updates, support, or account tools. Accounts may not be shared. The organisation may reassign a place when someone leaves or changes role, but not rotate access to avoid the limit. The purchase covers 1 production domain and 2 non-production environments. Public online checkout is currently closed. When it opens, checkout will require a verified Capell account and a customer organisation; guest checkout will not be available.

Renewal is manual. Renewing before the current term ends receives a 20% discount and extends the existing expiry date instead of replacing unused time. Protected updates available during an active term include eligible major-version releases, including a 1.x to 2.x upgrade, subject to the published compatibility and migration requirements for that release. A 7-day grace period follows expiry. Packages installed during active access continue running after ordinary expiry, but new downloads, installs, updates and support require active access. A refunded or revoked paid package may stop running at the next enforceable authorisation or marketplace check-in; offline revocation is not instantaneous.

For listings governed by these Capell marketplace terms, a purchaser may request a refund within 14 days. A request made before any package download is eligible without discretionary approval. Once a package has been downloaded, Capell must approve the refund request. A refund or revocation ends protected access at the next enforceable authorisation or marketplace check-in; an offline installation cannot be revoked instantaneously.

Capell Membership includes Released first-party marketplace packages plus explicitly opted-in Beta packages. Capell may withdraw an unsafe, incompatible, or legally restricted release without deleting historic purchase records.

Install and upgrade authorisation workflows make package changes visible before release. They may log the requesting domain, package, version, licence signal, instance identifier, app URL, timestamp, and result.

An authorisation response is not a promise that an extension is bug-free, secure, compatible, or suitable for a live website. Site owners remain responsible for review, staging, migration review, deployment checks, and rollback planning.

A Capell install may contact the marketplace through the web installer, command line, heartbeat process, or marketplace attestation endpoint. A request may include a signed installed package list, package versions, instance identifier, domain, app URL, source, local-development flag, IP address, user agent, payload-signature status, licence status, and suspected unlicensed-use indicators.

Capell uses this information to keep public download counts accurate, avoid double-counting repeated installs, exclude or limit local-development installs, recommend related packages, deliver security and upgrade notices, and investigate suspected unlicensed use of paid extensions.

The marketplace attestation endpoint is part of the install-authenticity model. Disabling or falsifying it may stop marketplace features, updates, licence checks, paid extension access, and support from working correctly.

Domain verification connects package, licence, receipt, and Capell account information with a site. It proves practical control of a domain for Capell account purposes only. It does not prove ownership of a business, trademark, client relationship, or wider legal right to that domain.

Marketplace purchases are processed through Lemon Squeezy, which calculates and collects applicable taxes and provides the tax receipt. Capell is not VAT registered and does not add Capell VAT to the stated price. Lemon Squeezy's payment, tax, and billing terms also apply. You are responsible for checking package-specific licence terms before using paid or bring-your-own-license packages.

Third-party packages are provided by their authors. Unless clearly marked as first-party, Capell does not own, control, warrant, or support a package. Your dealings with its author, including support and separate licence terms, are between you and that author.

Authors may receive non-sensitive aggregate marketplace signals and package-specific support or licence context. By default, they do not receive raw marketplace telemetry, full installed-package snapshots, IP addresses, or user agents.

Capell may delist packages, remove versions, reduce visibility, block installation, mark packages unsafe, or publish advisories where needed for security, rights, privacy, compatibility, abuse prevention, or legal reasons.

What your marketplace purchase entitles you to

Eligible Publishing Studio purchase credit belongs to the purchasing customer organisation, is non-transferable, expires after seven days, and is reconciled if the original purchase is refunded. Credit cannot reduce a Membership purchase below the configured checkout floor.
